The Challenge:

Increasing customer count and boxes be delivered with to much air

Lasaulec, technical wholesaler, supplies consumables and tools (MRO products) and personal protective equipment primarily to business customers in the Benelux.

In addition, they provide consulting and conduct safety inspections: Lasaulec focuses on B2B, has 11 branches, and 300 employees. “We are forward-thinking in all areas where we operate and where we can offer added value to customers. Always in this combination. We want to grow, but it must deliver added value for the customer,” says Anne Lourens, Managing Director of Lasaulec bv. “That could mean fast delivery for the customer, supplying technically high-quality products, or expanding the product range.” Thanks in part to this approach, Lasaulec is not only seeing sales of products grow, but the number of customers is also increasing.

Lasaulec faced the same challenges as the end user/customer. Anne Lourens: “We were using boxes that were far too large for the products we delivered. Moreover, manual processing was too labor-intensive, and with the large volume of orders, our system at the time was prone to errors, resulting in all the extra work that entailed.”

The CVP-500 has become one of the most important machines in our process. If I had to pick a machine to work with again, I’d choose the CVP-500 without a moment’s thought.

The Solution:

Business growth supported by sustainable packaging

Lasaulec was looking for a solution for the automated packaging of products. “We wanted to pack our products in a properly sized box and ship the ever-increasing volume of orders without errors.” In 2015, many solutions on the market relied on a standard-sized box for packaging products. This left the customer with excess cardboard and packing material. Customization was therefore a key requirement. “That’s how we ended up with the CVP Impack from Packsize.” Lourens: “A major advantage of the CVP Impack is that our customers benefit from fast delivery and aren’t left with unnecessary packaging material. Moreover, the CO2 emissions from the use of brown cardboard are very low.”

With the CVP Impack, product packaging is no longer a bottleneck. Lourens: “In eight years, we’ve doubled our revenue. Thanks in part to the CVP Impack, we experienced a growth spurt in 2015. We can now continue to grow without having to hire additional staff for packaging, because we’ve increasingly automated the process.

We are particularly satisfied with the machine’s operational output. It is a reliable machine that reduces errors by 15% compared to manual packaging. Our operators can resolve any malfunctions promptly. The CVP Impack has saved us 12 FTEs while our revenue has doubled. Despite our rapid growth, we’re using the same number of delivery vehicles. Because the CVP Impack packages items to size, we’ve been able to reduce our transport volume. Packsize itself talks about a 40% savings, and they’ve more than lived up to that promise.”
